Police: Sleepy Hollow Man Accused Of Strangling Wife, Due In Court Monday
SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - A Westchester County man has been charged with attempted murder and after police said he strangled his wife and then called 911 on himself early Saturday morning.
Christopher Howson, 49, called 911 to report a 'domestic incident' around 3 a.m. Saturday, according to police.
When emergency officials arrived at the Sleepy Hollow home, they found his 47-year-old wife, who has not been identified, unresponsive and in cardiac arrest.
She was taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital Center in critical condition.
Police announced on Sunday that she is not expected to survive.
Howson is being held in Westchester County jail and is due in court on Monday afternoon, police announced.
Police have not determined what led to the incident. Neighbors told the Journal News that Christmas decorations and children's toys were visible on the porch.
