Police: Serial Bank Robber Wanted In 3 More Incidents In Queens
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Tuesday suspected an alleged serial bank robber in three new incidents in Queens.
The suspect was identified in July, after he successfully robbed five banks and tried to hold up two others. He netted more than $34,000 over the last two years, police said.
The same suspect is now wanted in three other incidents at the following times and locations:
• Around 5:32 p.m. July 25, at the Chase Bank at 47-11 Queens Blvd. The suspect approached the teller and passed a note that demanded money, and made off with $5,900 cash, police said.
• Around 12:40 p.m. Aug. 30, at the Dimes Savings Bank at 75-23 37th Ave. The suspect walked up to the teller and handed him a note demanding money, and made off with $1,300 cash, police said.
• Around 2:50 p.m. Oct. 4 at the Chase Bank at 69-55 Grand Ave. The suspect came up to the teller and flashed a firearm as he demanded money, and made off with $5,170 cash, police said.
The suspect is believed to be between 30 and 35 years old, approximately 6-feet-tall and weighing about 200 pounds.
Police said he was last seen wearing a New York Yankees baseball hat and a button-down short sleeve shirt. He also had a light beard connected to a goatee, tinted eye glasses and a black wrist watch on his left wrist.
