Police Seek Manhattan Suspect Who Allegedly Punched Woman At Subway Station
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are asking for help in identifying a suspect wanted for punching a woman on the Lower East Side last Friday.
Authorities said the incident took place at the East Broadway subway station shortly after 6 p.m. Off-duty MTA employee Sabrina Scott, 39, fell onto the subway tracks after being punched once in the head by a male suspect, police said.
According to police, Scott was struck by the suspect on the platform. A third man, 43-year-old Derrick Oates, tried to intervene. During a struggle between Oates and the suspect, Scott was knocked to the subway tracks and sustained lacerations to her head.
She was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. No arrests have been made, but police are looking for a Hispanic man between the ages of 35-40, 6'0'' and 200 pounds. Police said he has a clean-shaven, pocked marked face and a clean shaven head.
