Police Seek Financial District Bank Robbery Suspect
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The NYPD would like your help identifying a suspect who made no attempt to conceal his identity during a recent bank robbery.
The robbery went down first thing Monday morning at the Sovereign Bank on 2 Gold Street.
The bandit wasn't willing to wait his turn in line for the teller. So police say he ambled up, shoved a customer who was in the middle of a transaction out of the way, and passed a note demanding money. The note also said he had a gun.
The teller complied, and gave him some dough. He then took off. No on e was injured.
The suspect is described as a heavyset male black, 25-35 years old, 6'1"-6'3", clear skin and close-cropped hair. As you can see in the photo, the suspect was wearing a white v-neck, short sleeved t-shirt, khaki pants, white sneakers and blue later gloves.
