NYC Cops Searching For Suspect in Attempted Sex Assault
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with the attempted sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl.
The victim told police she heard someone banging on the door of her building near Hester Street at approximately 6 p.m. on Monday.
Police said the victim opened the door for the suspect, who then followed her into the third floor stairwell where he attempted to sexually assault her.
The suspect fled on foot, and the victim was not injured
Police described the suspect as a white male between 25 and 30, approximately 5-foot-9 and 175 pounds, wearing a blue jacket, brown pants and a grey hat.
