Police Searching For Suspect In Huntington Station Hit-And-Run
HUNTINGTON STATION, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Suffolk County police are searching for the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that left a bicyclist seriously injured last month.
The 47-year-old victim was riding his bike on New York Avenue in Huntington Station when he was struck near Pulaski Road around 4:40 a.m. on Aug. 25, police said.

The vehicle, which is believed to be a 1996 to 2001 white 2-door Jeep Cherokee, fled northbound on New York Avenue before turning east on Broadway, police said.
"They stopped, they got out of the vehicle, they looked at the victim for a few seconds and then they ran back to vehicle and fled the scene," Suffolk County Police Sgt. Richard Auspaker said.
Detectives believe the passenger side headlight and side-view mirror were damaged in the crash.
The victim suffered serious injuries, police said.
"The victim has been released from the hospital at this time, but he still is undergoing treatment," Auspaker said.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
