Police Search For Suspect In Shooting That Wounded 3 In The Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Monday were searching for a suspect who fired several rounds and wounded three men in the Bronx this past weekend.

Around 2:55 p.m. Sunday, the suspect walked into three men in their 20s at Summit Avenue and 165th Street in the Highbridge section of the Bronx, flashed a handgun, and fired several rounds at the group.

Three men were injured, police said.

A 29-year-old man was wounded in the torso, a 21-year-old man was grazed in the chest, and a 28-year-old man was wounded in the right knee, police said.

The victims were all taken to Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center, where their conditions were reported as stable.

Surveillance video at the scene shows several men standing on the street corner. All suddenly take off running when the shots are presumably fired, except one man who spills out of a car door and goes flying onto the pavement.

The man who had been in the car appears to struggle with another man before he runs out of sight of the surveillance camera while holding his chest.

The suspect in the shooting was described as a black male in his 20s, standing about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 175 pounds, wearing a gray shirt and gray sweat pants.

Anyone with information was asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, log onto the Crime Stoppers website, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
