Police Search For Knife-Wielding East Harlem Robber
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Tuesday were asking for help from the public in finding a suspect who allegedly robbed three people at knifepoint in East Harlem.
In each incident, the suspect followed the victim into a building vestibule, flashed a knife, and demanded money, police said. No injuries were reported.
The first incident happened on Tuesday, Oct. 1, around 9 p.m. The victim, a 25-year-old man, walked into his building near 109th Street and First Avenue when the suspect robbed him for his Galaxy cell phone and $170, police said.
The following day around 10:50 p.m., a 24-year-old man was robbed while walking into his building near 102nd Street and First Avenue, police said. The suspect took $80 and a cellphone, according to police.
On Saturday, Oct. 5 around 7:30 p.m., the suspect robbed a 45-year-old man who was entering his building near 106th Street and Third Avenue. The robber took $230 from the victim's wallet, police said.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male around 25 years old.
Police have released a surveillance video of the suspect from the third incident.
