Police Search For Bank Robber Who Struck In Patchogue, L.I.
PATCHOGUE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Long Island were searching Thursday evening for a bank robber who struck in Patchogue.
Around 3:25 p.m. Thursday, a man entered the Chase Bank at 472 Medford Ave. in Patchogue, approached a teller, and handed over a note demanding cash, Suffolk County police said.
The teller complied, and the man ran off in an unknown direction, police said.
Police did not specify whether the robber implied he had a weapon, or how much money was taken.
The robber was described as a white male in his mid-20s, between 5 feet 8 inches tall and 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a thin build, police said. He was last seen wearing a knit cap and a red sweat shirt.
Anyone with information was asked to make an anonymous call to Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at (800) 220-TIPS.
