Police Search For Autistic Teen Who Vanished In Yonkers
YONKERS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- As the mystery continued in the search for Avonte Oquendo Wednesday night, police in Yonkers reported that another autistic teen was also missing.
Robert Richard, 14, was described as an "endangered missing child with autism." He was last seen earlier Wednesday on Abeel Street in Yonkers, according to Yonkers police.
Robert is black, with black hair and brown eyes, and stands 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds.
Robert was last seen wearing a green jacket and blue jeans, police said. He may be riding a blue mountain bike.
Robert is known to frequent the area around 231st Street in the Bronx, or may still be in Yonkers, police said.
He is known to frequent McDonald's, IHOP and KFC, police said.
Police said Robert is autistic, but did not indicate the severity of his autism or whether he is able to communicate verbally.
Robert may be in need of medical attention, police said.

News of Robert's disappearance came amid hopes of a new lead in the disappearance of Avonte, who is also 14 and severely autistic.
On Tuesday, a 13-year-old boy took the photo Tuesday on an E or F line train, police told CBS 2. It shows a boy in a rumpled beige jacket and green khaki pants sitting on a subway train looking straight ahead.
Police experts and family members have said they could not be certain that the boy in the picture was Avonte. But they said it was a concrete lead and will be followed.
Avonte is 5-foot-3 and weighs 125 pounds. The severely autistic and nonverbal boy was last seen wearing a gray striped shirt, black jeans and black shoes.
