Police Search For Assailant Who Attacked, Robbed Woman In Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Wednesday were asking for help from the public in finding a suspect who attacked and robbed a woman in southern Brooklyn.
The attack happened at around 4 a.m. this past Friday, police said. Police did not specify a street or block where the incident occurred, but said it was in the 60th Precinct, which includes Coney Island, Sea Gate and Brighton Beach.
The 63-year-old woman walked out of her home and down the street, when a man approached her from behind and put her in a chokehold before stealing her pocketbook and cellphone.
The suspect in the incident was described only as a man standing 5-foot-7 and weighing 160 pounds. Police have released a black-and-white surveillance video of the suspect.
