Police: Robber Hit Same Brooklyn Bank 3 Times Since February 2011
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD has launched a search for a man who robbed four banks in the Crown Heights and Bedford-Stuyvesant sections of Brooklyn since February of last year.
The robber targeted two Apple Bank branches, police said. He struck the branch at 318 Albany Ave. in Crown Heights three times in a period of 20 months – on Feb. 1, 2011 at 12:14 p.m.; on June 23, 2011 at around 11:30 a.m., and on Oct. 12 of this year at 12:20 p.m.
The robber also struck the Apple Bank Branch at 414 Flushing Ave. on the northern cusp of Bedford-Stuyvesant at 12:20 p.m. on Feb. 7, 2011, police said.
The suspect entered the locations, took out a gun, and passed a note to the tellers demanding money, police said. He fled on foot each time with unknown sums of money, police said.
The suspect is described as a black male between 40 and 60, standing 5-foot-11 to 6-foot and weighing 150 to 200 pounds, with a salt-and-pepper beard, police said.
