Police Rescue Man From Subway Tracks At Grand Central On St. Patrick's Day
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - It was St. Patrick's Day and NYPD Sgt. Robert Critelli was checking bags at Grand Central when someone ran up yelling about a man on the subway tracks.

"Myself, and the two officers ran down the stairs," he said.
Critelli, and officer Elias Fernandez bolted to the end of the platform.
"I actually saw the light coming around the curve," Critelli told WCBS 880 reporter Alex Silverman.
As they waved their flashlights, and flailed their arms, officer Anthony Anesta had to make a split second call.
"I jumped into the road bed to get him out of there," Anesta said.
Anesta tried to lift the man out up by his backpack, but the strap ripped.
"The lights are getting brighter," said Anesta.
The train finally screeched to a stop, as Anesta finally was able to hoist the man over his shoulder onto the platform.
"And thank God it worked out for all parties," he said.
Anesta says he would've done the exact same thing all over again.
"And if someone had to run up, and call 911, it would have definitely been too late," he said.
