Police Release Photos In Jersey City Hit-And-Run That Killed Woman

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Monday released photos of two vehicles that were believed to be involved in a crash that left a woman dead last week in Jersey City.

Ayako Okabe, 30, had just finished her final day on the job and was set to fly home to Japan and reunite with her husband, when she was struck Thursday evening on Routes 1 & 9 between Duncan and Sip avenues in Jersey City, according to an NJ.com report.

The Hudson County Sheriff's office has reviewed surveillance footage of the scene and has released photos of the two cars that are believed to have been involved.

One is believed to be a red and silver chrome food truck with white writing on the front, the other a small, four-door dark-colored car, the sheriff's office said.

Okabe had been working at A&A International Shipping on Duncan Avenue, the newspaper reported.

Anyone with information in the incident was asked to call the Hudson County Sheriff's Office at (201) 915-1300.
