NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A woman who was reported missing by her husband was found stabbed to death inside an apartment in Queens on Tuesday.
Officers responding to a 911 call of a missing person found Karla Shah-Boguwalski, 39, with multiple stab wounds in the neck around 1:20 p.m. inside a second floor apartment on Seaspray Avenue in the Rockaways, police said.

Shah-Boguwalski, who neighbors said was a teacher, was apparently found dead in her landlord's bathroom in the two-family house.
The Department of Education released the following statement Wednesday: "Karla Shah-Boguwalski was an ESL Instructor for the Beacon Program at P.S. 43. We will work with the school to provide counseling and support during this difficult time."
There was a trail of blood leading to the bathroom from the hallway indicating that Shah-Boguwalski was killed elsewhere and the body was dragged, 1010 WINS' Carol D'Auria reported.
One neighbor, who didn't want to be identified, told CBS 2's John Slattery the victim was having trouble with her landlord freely coming into her apartment and said she complained to police.
"I'm in shock. This had to be drastic for her to call 911 and make a complaint that my landlord keeps coming into her space," the neighbor said.
Sources told 1010 WINS that the landlord, Dr. Peter Howard, claimed to be a psychiatrist but he had fraudulent credentials and his license had been suspended to practice medicine in 1998.
Neighbors said they want answers and they want them as soon as possible.
"I mean we're upset about it. Human nature. People get impulsive. They do things. Who knows that the motives were?" one woman said.
Police said they've spoken to Shah-Boguwalski's husband extensively, and to the landlord, but only by phone, CBS 2's Slattery reported.
