NEW YORK (AP) --Separate auto accidents have killed two women pedestrians in Staten Island, an elderly woman crossing a street in Manhattan and a male bicyclist in Queens.

Police say 47-year-old Marion Anderson, of Brooklyn, and 59-year-old Lizette Sorrano, of Staten Island, were crossing Forest Hill Road in Staten Island at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday when they were struck and killed by a minivan. The driver of the minivan remained at the scene. Police are still investigating.

Fifteen minutes earlier in Manhattan, police say an 88-year-old woman was crossing Avenue C when she was struck and killed by a Con Edison truck making a turn onto East 16th Street. The truck remained at the scene, and the investigation is ongoing. Police did not release her name.

And in Queens, police say 54-year-old Pedro Lopez, of Queens, was riding a bicycle on Borden Avenue in Maspeth just before 5 p.m. Wednesday when he was fatally hit by a white commercial truck, which then fled the scene. There have been no arrests.
