Police: Queens Father Arrested For Taking Off With 2-Year-Old Daughter
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police have arrested a Queens man after they say he took his 2-year-old daughter and told the girl's mother that she would never see him or the toddler again.
An Amber Alert was issued Thursday for 2-year-old Ashley Minaya after her mother called police saying the girl's father, 33-year-old Mario Minaya, threatened to take toddler away.
Police say the 2-year-old's mother left the girl with Minaya when she went to work, but soon after got a call from Minaya saying he was taking off with child.
The two were later found by police and Minaya was arrested. The toddler was in good condition.
Minaya has been charged with custodial interference and endangering the welfare of a child.
