Package Thefts On The Rise In Fairfield, Southport
FAIRFIELD, CT (WCBS 880) - Police have seen this before, but this holiday season there seems to be an uptick in the number of thieves stealing packages delivered to homes in Fairfield and in Southport.

Lt. Jim Perez says many residents are getting tracking information indicating their packages have been delivered, but when they come home, the packages aren't there.
"We had one victim who had three packages taken at three different times and so this is becoming a problem," Perez told WCBS 880 Connecticut Bureau Chief Fran Schneidau. "We have witnesses who have said that they've seen vehicles following UPS and FedEx trucks as they make their deliveries, mostly in residential neighborhoods."
Police advise residents to either have somebody at home, if possible, to pick up the deliveries or have the packages delivered to offices where they work.
