Police: Officer Arrested For DWI In The Bronx
NEW YORK (1010 WINS/AP) -- Authorities said a New York City police officer was arrested for DWI during the early hours of Thanksgiving morning.
Police Officer Anthony Rodriguez, 27, was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated around 3 a.m. Thursday in the Bronx.
The New York Post reported Rodriguez was off-duty and found by officers who noticed his car facing the wrong direction on a Bronx street.
Police said the officer was asleep at the wheel, and refused a breath test but had slurred speech and his eyes were bloodshot.
Rodriguez pleaded guilty earlier this month to resisting arrest at a June Mets game at Citi Field, the Post reported.
Police said Rodriguez was suspended pending an investigation.
