Police: NJ Turnpike Shooting Probably Not Random

MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) -- A state police spokesman says a shooting that left two men wounded on the New Jersey Turnpike does not appear to be random.

State Police Sgt. Julian Castellanos said it appears the men were shot before they pulled their SUV over in a construction zone in the southbound lanes near Interchange 6 in Burlington County around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Castellanos said they were taken to a hospital and their wounds do not appear to be life-threatening.

State troopers were talking to a third man who was in the SUV.

No names have been released.
