Mom Facing Charges After 5-Year-Old Found Riding His Bike Alone In Brooklyn On Saturday Night
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A Brooklyn mother is facing charges after her 5-year-old child was found alone riding his bike.
Who the boy is and where he was supposed to be was all a mystery up until late Sunday afternoon when police said his mother showed up to the 67th Precinct in East Flatbush, CBS2's Reena Roy reported.
Police said the boy was spotted riding his bike at around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday near East 55th Street and Linden Boulevard/ When officers arrived, they said the boy didn't know his parents' names, their contact information or their address. It turns out he was about a mile away from his mother's home, but thankfully was found in good condition and taken into the care of the Administration for Children's Services. He spent the night with the city agency until his mother arrived Sunday.
Sources told Roy that 45-year-old Nichol Spencer has not fully explained what exactly happened and has been charged with acting in a manner injurious to a child.
