Police Name Suspect In Crown Heights Robberies, Shooting

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police have identified a suspect in a string of gunpoint robberies, and a shooting, in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.

Sundance Oliver, 19, is described as a black male standing 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds, police said. He has brown eyes, short black hair, and a medium and clear complexion, police said.

Police claimed Thursday evening that Oliver was responsible for three robberies:

• On Friday, May 23, around 10:15 p.m., he allegedly flashed a gun at someone and took a Samsung Galaxy cellphone at 253 Kingsborough 2nd Walk in Brooklyn;

• On Monday, May 26 around 2:30 a.m., the suspect allegedly walked into a store at 1664 Bergen St. in Brooklyn with another man who has been apprehended, approached a victim from behind, and tried to remove cash from a store counter. Police alleged after taking the money and attempting to flee, the suspect took out a gun and shot the victim. He was taken to Kings County Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries;

• Also on Monday, May 26, between 2:30 and 3 a.m., the suspect allegedly joined four other men in confronting a victim at 241 Kingsborough 2nd Walk in Brooklyn, and took his Samsung cellphone. While trying to get more property, the suspect allegedly displayed a firearm, but the victim did not turn over any more property.

Police have released a photo of the suspect.
