Police Nab Central Park Armed Robbery Suspect
NEW YORK (1010 WINS/AP) -- Police have arrested a man accused of three armed holdups in Central Park that occurred within a 40 minute span.
They say 18-year-old Jesse Wasserman, of New Rochelle, was arrested early Thursday on robbery charges.
Wasserman was identified by all three victims, police said.
A second suspect was also arrested shortly after the last robbery.
Police say the robberies began late Wednesday near East Drive between 81st and 84th streets. The suspects distracted their victims, all men, by asking for directions.
1010 WINS reporter Carol D'Auria reports police found Wasserman with all the stolen good including a cell phone and wallet taken from a 19-year-old, a bike from a 50-year-old and a backpack from a 35-year-old.
