Police: Men Caught Using Fraudulent Credit Cards On Long Island
WESTBURY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Nassau County loss prevention officers halted a credit card scheme in action this week, yielding surprising results.
As WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reported, it was at the Wal-Mart in Westbury, Long Island, where the officers stopped three men around 3:25 p.m. Friday after they allegedly attempted to make several purchases, and the credit cards they were using did not work.

"After attempting to make several purchases in which four credit cards were declined, the loss prevention officer asked to see identification and the credit card," said Nassau County police Officer Mary Verna. "One of the defendants handed over a driver's license and a credit card with many alterations and defects."
The three men then ran, but they did not get very far, police said. One was stopped at the front doors, while two others were halted by Nassau County police officers in the parking lot when they tried to drive off in a 2008 Lexus.
Verna said in total, the trio had 26 different fraudulent cards.
The suspects – John Eustache, 25, and Kenneth Bartholomew, 21 – both of Brooklyn – and Sacha Bryant, 35, of Baldwin – were each charged with possession of a forged instrument.
They were set to be arraigned Saturday.
