NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Monday were asking the public to help them find a suspect in an attempted kidnapping in College Point, Queens.

Around 12:15 a.m. Sunday, the suspect pulled up to an 18-year-old woman in a four-door sedan, as the woman walked on along 25th Avenue near 126th Street in Queens, police said.
The suspect asked the woman if she wanted a ride. The victim said no, and continued walking west down 25th Avenue, police said.
At that point, the suspect parked his vehicle at the northwest corner of 25th Avenue and 124th Street, and grabbed the woman around the waist while covering her mouth with his hand, police said.
He tried to drag her back to the vehicle, police said.
The woman resisted, and the suspect gave up and ran back to the vehicle, heading north on 124th Street, police said.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male between 30 and 35 years old, standing about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a slim build, and with a light beard and mustache; short, dark, spiked hair. He was last seen wearing a blue short-sleeved shirt, police said.
The four-door sedan the man was driving had damage to the passenger-side area, police said.
Police have released a sketch of the suspect and a photo of the car.
