Police: Man Shot In The Eye While Playing Basketball In Brooklyn Schoolyard
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- There is growing outrage in a Brooklyn community after a man was shot in a Bushwick schoolyard.
The 24-year-old man was shot in the eye while playing basketball ball at P.S. 45 on Schaefer Street around 8 p.m. Thursday, police said.

The shooting comes less than a week after a 3-year-old boy was shot nearby in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
Parents in the area are upset by the violence and want the guns off the streets so their children could live and play without fear.
"My son got up this morning and said, 'Daddy, somebody got shot in the park,'" Mesaun McIntosh, of Bushwick, told CBS 2. "I was like, 'I know, it's by your school but you still have to go to school.'"
The victim of Thursday's shooting remains at Kings County Hospital.
Community activist Tony Herbert is sickened by the latest shooting and is denouncing the shooter and all people that carry guns illegally.
"This park was crowded with young people. I've got a 9-year-old that is traumatically shook by this and we've got to provide counseling for him because it's not the first time that he was in this park and had to run out of here," Herbert said. "I think there's just something psychologically wrong in our community."
No arrests have been made.
