Police: Man Robbed, Tried To Rape Woman In Bed-Stuy
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a man who robbed and tried to rape a woman earlier this month in a Brooklyn park.
A 20-year-old woman was walking near Madison Street and Patchen Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant around midnight on Nov. 10 when the suspect approached her from behind and dragged her into Reinaldo Salgado Park, police said. There, he threw her to the ground, punched her repeatedly and stole $60 from her, according to authorities. The man then pushed the victim against a fence and sexaully assaulted her before fleeing, police said.
The victim was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
Police have released a sketch of the suspect. He is described as standing 5 feet, 9 inches tall and having a medium build, light hazel eyes and a medium skin tone. He was last seen wearing blue sweatpants and a dark hooded sweatshirt.
