Police: Man Kills Ex-Girlfriend Despite Restraining Order
BAY SHORE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Police say a Long Island woman had a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend who turned the gun on himself after killing her.
Police say the murder-suicide occurred Tuesday during a heated argument over visitation rights of their 3-month-old daughter.
They say 27-year-old Jason Jenkins entered the apartment he once shared with Sanita Williams at 1 a.m. Tuesday bearing a shotgun.
During the shooting, police say, Williams' sister, Shanna Jordan, jumped out of the second-story apartment, breaking her leg.
Jordan's 12-year-old son and Williams' 5-year-old daughter from another relationship were in the house at the time but were not hurt.
Newsday reports that the slayings capped a tumultuous relationship that included a breakup and the restraining order.
