Police: Man Attacked Worker During Pharmacy Robbery
NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- A Queens man was arrested Friday on robbery charges after he allegedly went behind a counter and attacked a CVS Pharmacy worker in Hewlett, Nassau County police said.
Sydney Abraham, 22, of St. Albans, Queens, gave the clerk several forged credit and gift cards for payment at the pharmacy, 1220 Peninsula Blvd., about 6 p.m.
The 22-year-old female employee became suspicious when the cards were rejected and notified police. That's when Abraham went behind the counter and attacked her, causing her to suffer a back injury, police said.
Two others employees who restrained Abraham were also injured. Police responded and arrested Abraham, and the employees were taken to local hospitals for treatment of injuries.
Police charged Abraham with second-degree robbery, second-degree burglary, criminal possession of a forged instrument and two counts of identity theft.
He was arraigned Saturday.
