Police: Man Arrested Driving Truck With Retractable Bumper On George Washington Bridge
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A Queens man faces charges after he tried to beat the toll at the George Washington Bridge Wednesday morning, Port Authority Police said.
Pablo Ortega of Ridgewood was behind the wheel of a tractor-trailer when he activated a hydraulic lift on the front bumper of the truck, PAPD said.
With the bumper raised, EZPass cameras couldn't read his license plate, the PAPD said. His rear plate was covered with grease and unreadable, according to the PAPD.
The bumper could be raised and lowered by hitting a switch on the dashboard, according to the PAPD.
There's no word yet on what charges Ortega will face.
