Police Looking For Suspect Wanted In Brooklyn Shooting That Left 5 Hurt
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a suspect who they said in wanted in connection with a shooting in Brooklyn that left five people hurt.
The suspect has been identified as 23-year-old Curtis Peterson. Police said Peterson was with a group of men Saturday when he allegedly approached the victims, pulled out a gun and starting shooting.
It happened at the intersection of Knickerbocker Avenue and Menahan Street in Bushwick.
A 22-year-old man was hit in the leg and a 62-year-old man in the ankle, police said. A 52-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man were both shot in the abdomen and a 37-year-old woman was shot in the knee, police said.
The victims were all taken to the hospital and are expected to recover.
After the shooting, Peterson fled, police said. A 9mm Taurus semiautomatic handgun was found at the scene, according to police.
Some of the victims' family members said the shooting may be connected to an incident that happened the night before, when a woman working at a nearby McDonald's claims a man attacked her.
Police describe Peterson as being 5-foot-10, 160 pounds with brown eyes and short, black hair.
