Police: Long Island Taxi Driver Stabbed Over Fare
NORTH HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police in Nassau County said 35-year-old Christopher Heron stabbed 32-year-old William Mena in the torso after the two taxi drivers fought over who was going to pick up a customer.
Mena was a 32-year-old married father with two children from Maspeth. Heron was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
The encounter happened around 9:30 last night in a parking lot in North Hempstead Friday. Mena was pronounced dead at 12:16 a.m. Saturday.
Both men worked for Ollie's Taxi in Franklin Square.
