Suffolk County Police say they stopped 48-year-old Shawndell Wilder, of Greenlawn, in Huntington Station Wednesday afternoon because he was driving with tinted windows and a cracked windshield.
Officers determined he was intoxicated and his girlfriend's 1-year-old son was in the backseat.
Upon further investigation, officers also determined Welder's license had been suspended 18 times.
Wilder has been charged charged with a felony count of aggravated driving while intoxicated with a passenger 15 years old or younger. He was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and endangering the welfare of a child.
The child's mother, Alicia Fabre 25, of Huntington, was also arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child after she admitted that she knew Wilder had been drinking prior to driving, police said.
The child was released into the custody of his grandparents.
