Police: L.I. Man Used Webcam, Saw Break-In All The Way From China
JERICHO, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Nassau County police said a home webcam helped a man spot someone breaking into his house when he himself was all the way in China.
The Jericho homeowner was on vacation this week, but had set up a camera so he could monitor his house over the Internet from the other side the planet, Nassau County police said.
When he saw someone inside at around 9 p.m. on Friday, he contacted police.
Responding officers spotted a woman running out of the house and arrested her, police said.
When the woman was arrested, she was carrying one of the cameras the man had installed in the house, police said.
Authorities said the woman would be charged with burglary. Her name had not been released as of Saturday afternoon.
