Police: L.I. Man Arrested, Charged With Driving Drunk With Kids In Car
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A Long Island man is being arraigned Wednesday on felony charges after Suffolk County police say he was caught driving drunk with children in his car.
Investigators say 25-year-old Aaron Tarkin of Huntington Station was stopped while taking a friend's two children, ages 8 and 5, to lunch. Police say he was pulled over because he was driving erratically as he passed by an officer on New York Avenue and Tuthill Street.
Tarkin is being charged under Leandra's Law. He faces aggravated DWI with a child, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic needle, among other charges.
He'll be arraigned Wednesday at the First District Court in Central Islip.
