Off-Duty Cop Killed In Brooklyn Crash
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An off-duty cop was killed Thursday after an early morning crash in Brooklyn.
It happened around 4:15 a.m. at Kings Highway and Beverly Road.
Police said the off-duty cop, whose name has not been released, was heading west on Kings Highway when he somehow lost control and struck a tree between Beverley Road and Tilden Avenue.
Emergency crews had to cut open the roof of the car to get the to the driver. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police are still investigating.
