As WCBS 880's Jim Smith reported, cops say the little girl was playing with toys one minute and the next, falling unconscious.

Neighbors Smith spoke with are shocked by the news, saying they remember the girl and her mother playing outside in the summer months.

"She was just laying on the stretcher, whatever they put them out of to the ambulance and the mother came out crying and she left with a boyfriend," one neighbor told WCBS 880. "It's sad. It's real, real sad."

The investigations into both deaths are ongoing, police said.
