Police In Brooklyn To Warn Drivers Who Leave Electronics Out In Cars
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- We're all familiar with the advice, "If you see something, say something," and if police in Brooklyn see a smartphone or tablet lying in your parked car in plain view, they will be saying something to you.
As 1010 WINS' Holli Haerr reported, officers in the 76th Precinct – which includes the Carroll Gardens, Red Hook and Cobble Hill sections of Brooklyn – will take a picture and send a letter reminding you to hide your valuables.

Rich Rivera of Red Hook said such a reminder might help people.
"I think it's a great idea," he said. "It's not going to hurt, and maybe it will make people aware."
But Sharon, of Carroll Gardens, did not like the idea at all.
"I think maybe police officers have better things to do," she said.
Some said even though police, and thieves, can look into any parked car, they think the police warning program is an invasion of privacy.
