Police ID Woman In Fatal Hit-And-Run
NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- Police have identified an Upper West Side woman who was killed by an alleged hit-and-run driver just blocks from her home.
Margaret Fischer, 67, was stuck Friday afternoon when crossing 93rd Street at Columbus Avenue.
Police said she was in the crosswalk when 24-year-old Jessica Altruz slammed into her and then sped off.
Altruz was stopped a block later.
She was charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
