Police Hunt For Driver Who Hit Officer In Queens
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police were searching Sunday evening for a hit-and-run driver who slammed into an officer in Queens.
Around 1 a.m. Sunday, the officer had pulled over a vehicle described by the New York Daily News as a White Pontiac at 115th Avenue and Springfield Village in Queens Boulevard, police said. But the driver sped off and struck the officer, police said.
The officer was hospitalized for minor injuries, police said.
Police Sunday evening were searching for the white sedan. A description of the driver was not available.
It was not immediately learned why the driver was originally pulled over.
