Police: Guest Stole Items From Several Vehicles On L.I. On Thanksgiving Morning
STONY BROOK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Long Island man staying with friends in Stony Brook is accused of stealing items from several cars in the neighborhood on Thanksgiving morning.
Paul Lewis, 20, of Holbrook got into four unlocked cars on Barker Drive and Barnwell Drive between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Thursday and stole electronics and jewelry, police said.
A resident called 911 and officers tracked Lewis to a house on Barker Drive where he was staying, police said.
Residents of the house turned over the stolen items and Lewis was placed under arrest, police said.
He is charged with four counts of criminal possession of stolen property and is scheduled to be arraigned at Fist District Court in Central Islip on Friday.
