Police: Former Knick Steve Francis Arrested

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles International Airport police say three-time NBA all-star Steve Francis has been arrested for alleged public drunkenness.

Airport spokesman Albert Rodriguez says Francis was arrested at 11:30 p.m. Thursday because he was intoxicated, unable to care for himself and combative toward staff.

Los Angeles Sheriff's Department records show Francis posted $10,000 bail and was released around 3:30 a.m. Friday.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 5.

The 33-year-old averaged 18.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 6.0 assists in nine seasons with Houston, the Orlando Magic and New York Knicks. He was an All-Star in 2002, 2003 and 2004. He was waived by the Grizzlies in 2009.
