Police Find Vans Stolen From Students Helping Sandy Victims
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Two vans that were stolen from a group of college students volunteering in the Sandy relief effort have been found in Brooklyn, police said.
The vans were reported stolen Thursday morning from the parking lot of the La Quinta Inn in Ozone Park where 31 students from St. Joseph's College were staying, 1010 WINS' Mona Rivera reported.
The vans were filled with equipment and tools that were being used by the students who used their spring break this week to help Sandy victims rebuild their homes.

"We came out that fourth morning ready to go and two of our vans were stolen," Patrick Tracy, director of campus ministry, said.
Luckily, the vans were equipped with GPS devices and police were able to track the vehicles to East New York later that day, Rivera reported. The equipment and tools were still packed inside.
"It's just unbelievable to me," senior Jill Hamill said. "We gave up our spring break to come and help victims of Hurricane Sandy and it's really disappointing that people will stoop that low."
The students have been helping Sandy victims in Long Beach, Fire Island, Breezy Point and Staten Island.
No arrests have been made.
