Police Find Missing Brooklyn Infant
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police in Brooklyn have found a missing 4-day-old baby.
Police said DeSean Carter, 33, had taken off with the newborn after an argument with the baby's mother just before 8 a.m. Tuesday in Bedford-Stuyvesant, CBS 2's Janelle Burrell reported.
It happened at 93 Lewis Avenue, which is part of the Roosevelt Houses, where the couple was staying with relatives.
"While she was getting ready, he ran out the door," the child's grandmother, Annette Carter, told Burrell.
Annette Carter said the baby's mother was planning to leave with the child to return to her family and believes her son snapped.
Annette Carter said her son didn't want his girlfriend to leave with the child because the girlfriend's family won't allow him inside their home.
"He can't go to her home, so he doesn't want her to go back to the house, because he doesn't want his baby there," Carter said.
Police searched the area with bloodhounds and handed out fliers, trying to track down Carter and the infant.
The child was found safe around 1 p.m.
