BAY SHORE, NY (WCBS 880) - Police on Long Island say a man fatally shot his ex-girlfriend and then turned the gun on himself during a dispute over visitation rights.
They say a 12-year-old boy, a 5-year-old girl and a 3-month-old girl were in the Bay Shore apartment at the time but were not injured.
Police say 27-year-old Jason Jenkins entered the apartment at Spruce Street and 3rd Avenue at 1 a.m. Tuesday with a shotgun and got into a dispute with Sanita Williams over visitation rights involving the infant. Police say they were the infant's parents.
