Police Chase Ends In Fatal Crash In The Bronx
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A chase ended fatally Monday for one of two men apparently trying to escape the police.
Police were hoping to question the two after spotting them in the parking lot of a Honda dealership in Westchester. Police suspected the men were trying to steal rims off some of the cars.

New Rochelle police chased the Nissan Maxima into the Bronx on I-95 and then onto the service road where the driver couldn't navigate a turn, 1010 WINS' Terry Sheridan reported. The exit ramp was lined with parked cars.
The Maxima smashed into two parked cars, killing a passenger in the speeding car instantly, police said. The driver was taken to Jacobi Hospital.
"We just heard a big boom," witness Itoro Udotai told CBS 2's Jessica Schneider.
"The smoke came out of the car, and the police cars were right there, from New Rochelle," another witness said. "There was smoke, the car was turned sideways on the road. The police came out. They were shouting, they had their guns out, and they had their flashlight and they were looking in the car to see what was going on.
Some of the rims were found in the wrecked car, police said. Witnesses said the passenger in the car was holding one of the tires on his lap, Schneider reported.
Rescue crews had to use the jaws of life to get the 20-year-old driver out, Schneider reported.
Bruce Cheeseboro woke up to find his GMC Yukon pickup truck struck in the crash.
"The whole passenger side is all to pieces, all messed up," he said.
"To me, over rims or stealing a car, that's just ridiculous for them to lose their lives over something like this," area resident Sherene Davis said.
Police said they believe the tires were stolen from the Honda dealership on East Main Street in New Rochelle.
