But there was a collective sigh of relief in Wayne last week after a special police unit interrupted a burglary in progress and tracked down two out of the four suspects.

But police were quick to emphasize that their work wasn't done, and since Saturday, there have been three more break-ins on Oak Lane, Newark-Pompton Turnpike, and Nellis Drive.
In one case, the back door was kicked in. In another, the thief bypassed the alarm by climbing a ladder to a bedroom window.
One description given to police was of an older male with a blonde woman behind the wheel of black car.
It's the talk of the town, reported WCBS 880's Sean Adams.
"We used to feel safe, but not anymore," said one resident.
"I know the Wayne police, another told Adams. "I know they got it covered. They'll take care of it."
