Police: Brooklyn Mother Charged In Connection With Infant's Death
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police say they have charged the mother of an 11-month-old Brooklyn boy who drowned in a bathtub with endangering the welfare of a child.
Police say 24-year-old Angelica Huertas was charged Tuesday.
Authorities say 11-month-old Elijah Pardella was found unconscious just after 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the family's Pennsylvania Avenue apartment. He was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital.
Police say Elijah and his 3-year-old sister were left alone in the bathtub for several minutes with the drain unplugged, but the water still running.
The investigation is still ongoing.
