Police: Bagged Body Parts Found Along LIRR Tracks In Queens
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A homeless man made a disturbing discovery near some train tracks in Queens on Saturday, authorities said: He found some plastic bags with body parts inside them.
According to the New York Post, the man found the bags near the Long Island Rail Road tracks in the Elmhurst section. They had been dumped in an overgrown area.
A torso, leg bone and skull were among the remains. Details on whether they belonged to a man or woman, or any other identifying information, were still to be determined.
The medical examiner's office is scheduled to perform an autopsy Sunday.
