Police: Arrest Made In Brooklyn Rape Involving Hammer-Wielding Suspect

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police believe they have the man responsible for allegedly raping one woman and attempting to rape another while threatening them both with a hammer in Brooklyn.

Anthony Moore, a 19-year-old from Queens Village, was arrested Friday in connection with the two alleged incidents on April 9.

The suspect demanded oral sex from an 18-year-old woman before raping her in a back alley in the first incident, police said.

Moore is also believed to be responsible for an attempted rape later the same day when a 22-year-old victim was threatened inside her apartment building, police said.

The victim in that case was able to fend off the suspect and fled.

Charges are still pending.
